Calendar of Carnivals 2017.

According to the Best Selection 2017 of the association Italian Touring Club (Touring Club Italiano), among the cities best known for their Carnivals, such as Venice and Viareggio, you will find also Cento. And in the region Emilia-Romagna (where Cento is situated), there are also many other interesting Carnivals.

Here is a small selected calendar of the most beautiful and interesting Carnivals to see in 2017:

Venice - from 11th to 28th February;

Viareggio - 5, 12, 18, 26 and 28 February;

Cento - every Sunday, from 12th February to 12th March;

Comacchio - is a nice canal town, called for this reason "small Venice". Here is performed a Water Carnival. Instead of floats there are extravagantly decorated boats. The dates are: 19th and 26th of February.

Ferrara - Renaissance Carnival - historical recollection of the Carnival celebrated by the Este Court during the Renaissance - from 23rd to 26th February.

Imola - Carnival of Fantavehicles - where the main requirement is not to pollute the environment, and full freedom for immagination for the rest! And only one date - 26th of February.

In Busseto, the native town of the great composer Giuseppe Verdi, the colourful parade of Carnival floats is performed every Sunday, from 12th February to 20th of March.
